Community blood drive set in Vienna

An American Red Cross Blood Drive is planned on Monday, Nov. 20.

Fellowship Baptist Church on Senior Drive will be hosting the blood drive from noon until 6 p.m.

Presenting donors will be treated to chili, soup, grilled cheese, lots of desserts, and soda, as well as the usual Red Cross goodies.

The holidays are a busy time when more blood is needed, but many donors are traveling or too busy to donate.

For those who think they are eligible to donate blood, come out and be screened.

Donors should be in good physical health, feeling well, and must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 with parental consent.

There is no upper age limit. The donation will be smoother if there are no skipped meals, donors drink plenty of liquids (non-caffeinated), and do not get over tired.

The donation process is faster by going to the site, redcrossblood.org/RapidPass, on the day of the Drive.  Read and answer all the questions. Donors may print out the Rapid Pass or email it to themselves on their smart phones

To make an appointment or would like to help with the blood drive, call 771-2017.
