Stafford meets with state officials

Vienna High School Superintendent Joshua Stafford attended a meeting in Governor Rauner’s office with Education Secretary Beth Purvis, Senator Dale Fowler and several other school leaders from around the state. In this meeting Stafford and others were asked about state school funding. The state has passed a budget that includes school funding, but the legislation that allows for it to be distributed has not been passed as of this publication. Stafford says,  “State school funding is no doubt an important issue. We must expect the state to fulfill its constitutional obligation when providing for the education of kids and do this in such away that is fair, adequate, and equitable around the state.”
