Joe Allen Hunter, age 64 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, May 31, 2017, at 8:15 PM at his home.
Joe was born June 11, 1952 in Carbondale, Illinois. He was the son of Watson Hunter, Jr. and Hazel M. (Lollis) Hunter.
Joe was united in marriage to Wanda L. Nalley on June 6, 1969 in Johnson County Illinois. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by: his children – Allen J.R. (his wife, Tina) Hunter of Marion and Elizabeth A. (her husband, Wayne) Braden of the Brownfield community; 3 grandchildren – Brandon, Cody, and Hope; a brother – James Hunter of Vienna; a sister-in-law – Delores Hunter of Makanda; nieces and nephews – Christina, Angela, Steven, Scott, Chad, Richard, Ray, and Barb; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son – David Hunter and a brother – John Hunter.
Joe was employed as a timberman. He logged and was a skid operator.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where he had attended services in his youth.
There will be no services.
