Vienna Grade School cheerleaders state bound

The Vienna Grade School Cheerleaders are headed for state competition. The 15 member team competed at the Mt. Vernon Illinois Cheerleading Coaches, ICCA, and Invitational Cheerleading Competition in Mt. Vernon on Sunday, Dec. 4.  The team received a score high enough to qualify to compete at state competition in Springfield. The cheerleaders will travel to Springfield on Jan. 8 to compete against other junior high cheer teams from throughout the state.  The competition is held at the Prairie State Convention Center.

The cheerleaders competed again, Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Pinckneyville ICCA competition where they placed first and received another state qualifying score.  The cheerleaders are coached by Staci Shafer, and Stephanie Carrick.
