Holiday Home Tour is this Sunday

By Dixie Terry

The Holiday Home Tour will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 1-4 p.m. by the Johnson County Home and Community Education of the University of Illinois Extension.

The beautifully decorated homes of Kim and Neil Martin and Darla and Cory Waters, Vienna, and Connie and Dennis Lowery of West Vienna, each unique, will be open to the public.

As well, The Lighthouse of Eagle House Ministries, Buncombe, with its four floors, will be decorated and open to guests, who can view the Johnson County countryside from each level.

A soup and sandwich lunch, with drink and dessert, will be available, from 12-1:30 p.m. at the extension building on East Main Street in Vienna. Tickets for the meal are $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Guests are welcome to enjoy either or both the tour and lunch.

Tour tickets are $7 and can be purchased from HCE members in advance, or on the day of, at the extension building, where the tour begins, with maps available. Guests will be on their own for the tour and can visit the locations in any order they wish.

This is one of the HCE’s major fundraisers, that will provide for several community projects in the coming year.

The HCE members are anticipating seeing lots of area residents come out and enjoy the afternoon, while getting into the spirit of the Christmas season.
