Carolyn J. (Brady) Faulkner – Obituary

Carolyn J. (Brady) Faulkner, age 61 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, December 12, 2016, at 7:26 AM at her home.

Carolyn was born February 6, 1955 in Anna, IL. She was the daughter of Millard Brady and Alva Juanita (Case) Brady.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Greg Faulkner on January 1, 1977 at First Baptist Church in Vienna. He survives.

In addition to her husband Carolyn is also survived by: her daughters- Sarita (her husband Ryan) Buchanan of Kevil, Kentucky and Tessa (her husband Jacob) Winn of Paducah, Kentucky; 2 grandchildren- Adaya & Dawson Winn; a brother- Donnie (his wife Jerrie) Brady of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a sister Pam Green of Cypress; several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was also anticipating the birth of a third grandchild in July of 2017.

In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by: a brother- Johnnie Brady, a niece- Leslie Brady; a brother-in-law- Roger Green.

Carolyn was a graduate of Vienna High School. She attended Shawnee Community College and later attended Southern Illinois University where she attained two Bachelor’s degrees one in Math and another in Psychology. Carolyn made the Dean’s list and also was a pitcher for 2 years at Southern Illinois University.

After graduating Carolyn taught Math and Psychology at Southeastern Illinois College and at Shawnee Community College. While at Shawnee, Carolyn was instrumented in the development of the Dislocated Workers Program.

Carolyn was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family. She also liked to fish, loved her dogs, but especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

A service honoring the life of Carolyn J. Faulkner will be conducted Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11AM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Dr. Ed Hollis will officiate.

Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 15, 2016 from 5PM-7PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
