Roger Green, age 69 years, a resident of Cypress, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, November 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
Roger was born June 7, 1947 in Cairo, Illinois. He was the son of Fred L. Green and Verna (Congleton) Green.
On June 19, 1966, Roger was united in marriage to Pam Brady at the Vienna First Baptist Church. Together, Roger and Pam have shared over 50 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Roger is also survived by: his mother – Verna Green of Cypress; his children – Debbie Green, Angela (her husband, Brad) Rudluff, and LaVerne (his wife, Jennifer) Green all of Cypress; 4 grandchildren – Catilyne, Hannah, and Jonathon Green and Brady Rudluff; a sister – Rita Moake of Cypress; a brother-in-law – Donnie (his wife, Jerrie) Brady of Bartlesville, OK; a sister-in-law – Carolyn (her husband, Greg) Faulkner of Vienna; nieces & nephews – Chuck Moake, Dawnette Brady, Sarita Buchanan, Tessa Winn, Matthew Brady and Kevin Brady; and 3 great nephews – Cale, Blaine, and Bryson.
In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Millard and Juanita Brady; and 2 brothers-in-law – Frank Moake and Johnnie Brady.
Roger was a 1965 graduate of Vienna High School. He also attended Wabash Valley Community College. Roger was a lifelong farmer and truck driver. He was a partner in the family business, Green Implement & Supply Company in Cypress, from 1988-2011.
Roger was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He particularly cherished time spent with his grandkids. Roger enjoyed boating, attending farm auctions and was a proud FFA alumnus and supporter.
A service honoring the life of Roger Green will be conducted Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 12 noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
