George A. “G.A” Clymore – Obituary

george-a-g-a-clymore-1475427777George A. “G.A” Clymore, age 59 years, a resident of Jonesboro, Illinois, passed away Friday evening, September 30, 2016, at 11:15 PM at Southeast Missouri Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

G.A. was born August 17, 1957 at Scott Air Force Base near Belleville, Illinois.

On September 3, 2012, G.A. was united in marriage to Barbara (nee Travelstead) Prineas in Vienna. She survives.

Other survivors include: his children – Peyton Nicole Clymore at home, Kim (her husband, Chris) Gibson of Joliet, and Valerie (her husband, Andy) Rhymer of Junction City, Kansas; stepchildren – Shane Carlton of Goreville, Stephanie Carlton of Cambria and Johnathan Carlton of Kansas City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren – Aden, Jayden, Seara, Taylor, Preston, and Ethan; a brother – Eddie (his wife, Joanna) Clymore of Creal Springs; close friends – Jim (his wife, Gail) Braeutigam, Rick (his wife, Sheila) Reichert, Bobby (his wife, Sherry) Throgmorton, and Scott (his wife, Melanie) Wright; a brother-in-law – Alvin Travelstead of Marion; and 2 sisters-in-law – Sue (her husband, Kenny) Goddard of Vienna and Donna Travelstead of Creal Springs; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends. G.A. is also survived by beloved family pet rabbits, Floppy & Cookie.

G.A. was preceded in death by: his parents – Earl and Marie Stewart; his biological father – George A. Clymore II; his father-in-law & mother-in-law – Gene and Edna Travelstead; a brother-in-law – (Raymond (his wife, Sue Ann) Travelstead; 2 sisters-in-law – Dorothy Travelstead and Linda Ruth (her husband, John) Smith.

G.A. was a 1975 graduate of Vienna High School. He had also attended Shawnee Community College.

G.A. had been employed for several years by the Anna-Jonesboro National Bank in various capacities until declining health forced him to retire in December 2014.

G.A. was a former member of the Anna Moose Lodge # 1346. He was an avid fisherman and an excellent pool player. He enjoyed woodworking and photography. G.A. was of the Christian faith.

A memorial service honoring the life of G.A. Clymore will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2016, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. George Calhoun assisted by Rev. Mike Turner will officiate.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 11 AM – 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
