Kathryn A. Walker, age 71 years, a resident of Kevil, Kentucky and a former resident of West Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2016, at 1:11 AM at Baptist Health Care in Paducah.
Kathryn was born July 1, 1945 in the Flatwoods community in Johnson County Illinois. She was the sixth of eleven children born to Avery and Elizabeth Mae (Young) Kerley.
On October 5, 1963, Kathryn was united in marriage to Virgil W. Walker at the County Line Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2015.
Survivors include: her sons – Troy Duane (his wife, Krystal) Walker and Shaun Lee (his wife, Christina) Walker all of Kevil, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren – Courtney Lynn Walker, Aaron Matthew Walker, Zachary Shaun Walker, Emily Nicole Walker, and Kiley Trelyn Walker; a great granddaughter – Brooklynn Grace Walker; 5 sisters – Frances Rohrer of Metropolis, Mary (her husband, George) Stone of Grantsburg, Dorothy (her husband, Jack) Jones of Metropolis, Jeanne (her husband, Bob) McCall of Buncombe, and Anita (her husband, Roger) Ditterline of the Flatwoods community; 3 brothers – Robert (his wife, Pattie) Kerley of Scappoose, Oregon, Carlos Kerley of Vienna, and Kenneth (his wife, Cheryl) Kerley of the Flatwoods community; 2 sisters-in-law – Leda Jane Kerley of the Flatwoods community and Wilma (her husband, Bud) Gale of Freeport; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by: 2 brothers – Curtis Earl Kerley and James A. Kerley; a sister-in-law – Elly Kerley; and a brother-in-law – Carlos H. Rohrer.
Kathryn was a graduate of the Vienna High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and seamstress work. Kathryn was a member of the County Line Baptist Church in the Flatwoods community.
A funeral service honoring the life of Kathryn A. Kerley Walker will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2016, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in the Kerley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon – 2 PM Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home.
