William “Bill” Meyer – Obituary

William “Bill” Meyer, 77, of Karnak, passed away at 4:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Bill was born  January 19, 1939 in the Boaz Community in Massac County.  Bill was a  United States Army Veteran, he had worked as a Military Police Officer in Brooklyn, New York. After serving in the military Bill returned to Karnak and worked for many years for the Corzine and Son Feed Mill until it closed. Bill then  went on to work at a furniture company in Paducah, Kentucky until he became ill.
Bill is survived by four sisters, Betty Walker and Ken of Quincy, Illinois, Wilma Deming of Marcellus, Illinois, Connie Baker of Quincy, Illinois, Jennie Law and William of Mounds; one brother, Jerry Wayne Meyer of Anna, several nieces and nephews, and good friend Charles Hogue of Metropolis.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillie Durall Meyer; one sister, Shelby Myrick.
Funeral services for Mr. William “Bill” Meyer will be at 1:00pm  Tuesday, June 7,  2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.  Rev. Gerell Cain will be officiating.  Interment will follow  at the Anderson Cemetery in Boaz.
