Lora L. (Trovillion) Hunsaker – Obituary

Hunsaker, croppedLora L. (Trovillion) Hunsaker, age 87 years, a resident of Carrier Mills and a former resident of Vienna, passed away Sunday morning, May 1, 2016, at 7:25 a.m. at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Lora was born November 21, 1928 in Grantsburg, Illinois. She was the youngest of seven children born to John Carlos and Erma (Dixon) Trovillion.

Lora was united in marriage to Paul Hunsaker. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1969.

Survivors include: her children – Mary Jaye (her husband, John) Faulkner of Marion, Paul (his wife, Robyn) Hunsaker of Carterville, and Scott (his wife, Tressa) Hunsaker; 4 grandchildren – Krista (her husband, Paul) Huckelberry, Rebecca (her husband, Silas) Mercer, Kelly (his wife, Michelle) Hunsaker and Jade Hunsaker; 10 great grandchildren – Josef Huckelberry, Carissa Huckelberry, Silas Randall Paul Mercer, Sabrina Mercer, Abigail Mercer, Jade Mercer, Maleia Evans, Maia Hayden, Kelsey Hunsaker, and Kamryn Hunsaker; a great-great granddaughter – Lillie Huckelberry; a niece – Linda Hicks of Farmington, Missouri and a nephew – J. Paul Trovillion of Vienna, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lora was preceded in death by: a son – Denny Carl Hunsaker; 3 brothers – Carl, J.P., and Jerry Trovillion and 3 sisters – Eunice Abell, Myrtle Verhines, and Thelma Ramsey.

Lora was a 1946 graduate of the Vienna High School. She had been employed as a special education assistant at the Vienna Correctional Center. Lora was a former member of the American Correctional Association and she had also served on the steering committee which was instrumental in the formation of the Johnson Co. Family Counseling center.

Lora was a member of the Vienna First Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and furniture restoration.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Lora Hunsaker will be conducted Friday afternoon, May 6, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.

Inurnment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home.
