Edith Marie Henry Miller – Obituary

Edith Marie Henry Miller, age 99, of Karnak, passed away at 2:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at her home in Karnak.

Edith was born April 20, 1916 in Vienna.

Edith and Roy “Tony” Miller were united in marriage on April 25, 1933.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Karnak.  Edith loved spending time with her family, doing yard work, playing the piano and working outdoors.

She is survived by one son, Leroy “Bill” Miller and wife, Anna Lou of Karnak; two granddaughters, Toni Rae and husband, James Simpson of Tucson, AZ, Terrie Lea and husband, Chris Bloom of Karnak; four sisters, Alice Bass of Mountain Home, AK, Velma Corzine of Karnak, Jenny Wise and husband, Joe of Glendale, Norma Sue Tapley of Metropolis; four great grandchildren Rebecca Metcalf of Iowa, Joshua Simpson of Tuscon, AZ, Jennifer Koch and husband, Todd of Iowa, Victoria Bloom of Iowa; six great-great grandchildren, CJ Metcalf, Emrie, Keilyn, Todd, Alanah and Adriann Koch; several nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Tony” Raymond Miller; parents, Willie Irvin and Grace Elizabeth Tinsley Henry; granddaughter, Anna Jean Miller; three brothers, Wayne, Charles and Lynn Edward Henry; two sisters, Dorothy Bass and Mary McClellan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Marie Henry Miller will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.  Rev. Dean West will be officiating.

Interment will follow at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Karnak, PO Box 207, Karnak, IL 62956, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
