SCC Lady Saints ranked 17th nationally

The Shawnee Community College Lady Saints basketball team cracked the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 poll, ranking 17th out of the top 25 programs for the week of February 10, 2016, jumping two spots from the previous week.

The Lady Saints have an impressive overall record of 23-1 and 13-1 in the conference. They average 82.6 points per game this season.

Wednesday, Feb. 10, the Lady Saints defeated Rend Lake 84-55.

First-year coach Luke Scheidecker and the Lady Saints have turned the women’s basketball program completely around, after the previous 2014-2015 season without a single win.

A key player for the Lady Saints is freshman guard Emari Jones, who is currently 2nd in the NJCAA shooting category, averaging 23.7 points per game.
