UPDATE – Rural Vienna home destroyed by fire Sunday

Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 – 1:30 p.m. – The Vienna and Buncombe Fire Departments are currently on the scene of this house fire. The house is located on Rt. 147, approximately one mile from Rt. 146, near Vienna.

UPDATE:

Vienna, Buncombe and New Burnside Fire Departments responded to a house fire near Vienna Sunday afternoon.

The house, owned by William and Marcie Grant, 30 Snow Hill Lane, was reported on fire at 12:24 p.m.

No one was at home when the fire broke out.

When firemen arrived the house was fully engulfed by fire. The home was a complete loss.

A wood-burning stove is thought to be the cause of the fire.

Firemen were on the scene for two and a half hours.
