Donald Gene “Don” Hebbeler – Obituary

hebbeler donDonald Gene “Don” Hebbeler, 74, of Goreville, passed away at 3:30 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Don was born on February 15, 1941 in West Eminence, MO to Louis H. and Alice Lorene (Tackett) Hebbeler.  He married Ellen Horn and she survives in Goreville.

He courageously served his country while enlisted in the United States Navy.  Once honorably discharged, he began a career as a trucking dispatcher for many years.  He currently worked for Justin’s Trucking in Goreville.

Survivors include: Wife- Ellen Hebbeler of Goreville; Mother- Alice Lorene Marshall of Goreville; Children: Rodney Hebbeler of Thompsonville; Terri Dial of Mount Vernon; Cindy Umbriana of Mount Vernon; Margaret Cooling of Marion; Shirley Pound of Caney, Oklahoma; Billy Wrobleski of Olney, Texas and Tony Stiles of Atoka, Oklahoma; Twenty one grandchildren; Eleven great grandchildren; Mother in law- Floy Horn of Farris, Oklahoma; Sister- Doris Lingle and husband Denny of Goreville; Brothers- Melvin Hebbeler and wife Kay of Herrin and Bill Hebbeler and wife Mitty of Zeigler; Sister in law- Kay Dodd of Atoka, Oklahoma; Brother in law- Glen Horn of Atoka, Oklahoma; Several nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his father, two children- Danny and Michael Hebbeler and one sister- Shirley Hebbeler.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Don’s life at The Marion VFW (201 East Long Street Rd/ Marion, IL   62959) on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.  Memorial arrangements were made at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
