Betty Louise Gibbs, age 83 years, a resident of Eldorado, Illinois and a former resident of New Burnside, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Betty was born March 6, 1932 in Grantsburg. She was the second of four children born to Clennie C. and Edna E. (Mott) Morris.
Betty was formerly united in marriage to Floyd J. Ford and later to Jess W. Gibbs.
Survivors include: her children – Rondal Ford of New Burnside, Bonnie Marks of Eldorado, and Debbie Gibbs of Galatia; 6 grandchildren – Allen, Jennifer, Roy, Dana, April, and Michael; 12 great grandchildren; and a brother – Harlen Morris of New Burnside.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dustin Marks, and 2 brothers – Wayne Morris and Kenneth Morris.
Betty was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty enjoyed making handcrafted crochet items and spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, November 25, 2015, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Darrell Ford will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
