Fundraising efforts continue for Autumn Ridge

Seventy-three year old Karen Poole, left, has taken it upon herself to help raise money for the Autumn Ridge Supportive Living Center’s activity fund by making pink ribbons. She is a resident of the facility. The pink ribbons help to promote breast cancer awareness nationwide.

Poole had recovered from breast cancer several years ago but was recently informed the cancer had returned.

Karen PooleDuring a public event at Autumn Ridge last week, Poole promoted  her efforts to raise money for the activity fund by pinning a ribbon on many of the attendees. She raised nearly $150 within an hour that day.

If you would like to donate to Autumn Ridge’s residents activity fund call the facility at 618-658-2775 for details.

Poole, pictured left, had sheriff Charlie Harner to kneel down so that she could reach his uniform to attach a ribbon.
