Faulkner Recognized in Springfield

Former sheriff Elry Faulkner received a number of honors recently.  He was recognized by both the state senate and the state house of representatives.

State senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon) welcomed Faulkner as well as other members of the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association.

Faulkner was also welcomed by state representative Brandon Phelps.  Faulkner was recognized for being the longest serving sheriff in Illinois history and congratulated for his retirement after 40 years of service.

“Sheriff Faulkner is a life-long public servant who has protected his community for the last 40 years,” said Phelps. “He is a friend of mine and to countless other residents in Johnson County and we all have benefited from his commitment and we wish him well.”
