Baker, KevinKevin D. Baker, age 55 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at St. Louis University Medical Center.

Kevin D. Baker, age 55 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at St. Louis University Medical Center.

Kevin was born January 15, 1960 in Belleville, Illinois.  He was the son of Horace “Jr.” Baker and Minnie Ruth (Nichols) Baker.

On February 13, 2005, Kevin was united in marriage to Tiffanie LeShae Byrd at Luther’s Chapel United Methodist Church south of Cypress.

Kevin is survived by:  his wife – Tiffanie Baker of Vienna; his mother – Minnie Ruth Baker of McEwen, Tennessee; his children – Janet Baker Hill, and her husband Tony, of McEwen, Tennessee, Kevin Baker, Jr. and his wife Tiffany, serving in the United States Marine Corps in North Carolina, Allison “Allie” Byrd and Dalton Byrd both of Vienna; 2 grandchildren – Dalton Hill and Triston Hill; 5 brothers – James “Jimmy” Baker and his wife Jenny of Cypress, Dennis Baker and his wife Jackie of McEwen, Tennessee, Michael Baker and his wife Dawn of Berkley, Kentucky, Kenneth Baker and his wife Diane of Cypress, and Ronald “Ronnie” Baker and his wife Annette of McEwen, Tennessee, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins, along with a dear and special nephew, who once saved Kevin’s life,  Shawn McAdams and his wife Peggy of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father – Horace “Jr.” Baker.

Kevin was a former member of the National Guard.  He had been employed as an over-the-road truck driver.  He enjoyed watching television and his favorite programs were ‘Ice Road Truckers’ and ‘Cops.’  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and mudding.  Kevin was also an avid knife collector.

He was a member of the Luther’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Kenny Baker will officiate with a eulogy to be delivered by Kevin’s nephew, Kenneth Baker II.

Burial will be in the Luther’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, and from 9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the funeral home.
