SICCM programs now taking applications for Fall 2015

Shawnee Community College is now taking applications for the Fall 2015 SICCM programs. Members of the Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market, (SICCM), program include John A. Logan College, Kaskaskia College, Rend Lake College, Shawnee Community College, Southeastern Illinois College, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The Medical Laboratory Technology Associate Degree in Applied Science program through SICCM will teach the students the technical skills necessary to perform routine studies in areas of hematology, serology, coagulation, clinical microbiology, clinical chemistry, blood banking, and urinalysis.

The Occupational Therapy in Applied Science program through SICCM will teach the students both lecture and hands-on laboratory components. During the program, students will develop entry-level competencies necessary to provide services to persons of all ages who have functional loss due to physical, neurological, social/emotional, cognitive, or developmental disabilities.

The Veterinary Technology in Applied Science program through SICCM will teach the students the administrative, clinical, and technical skills necessary to assist the veterinarian in all phases of medicine and surgery for small, large, exotic, and lab animals.

The Surgical Technology certificate program through SICCM will teach the students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to practice as certified surgical technologists.

March 1, 2015 is the deadline for applications and required testing.
