Linda Lingle Choate, age 68, a resident of rural Simpson, passed away Monday evening at 9:39 p.m., December 29, 2014, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Illinois.
Linda was born November 30, 1946 in Johnson County, Illinois. She was the daughter of William Carl Lingle and Opal Shelton Lingle, she survives.
Linda was united in marriage to Gary Choate on November 24, 2000 in Pope County, Illinois and enjoyed years of marriage before her passing, he survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include: her daughter – Rhonda Bengston of Simpson; 2 grandchildren– Garret Underwood and Jessica Lingle; 2 brothers—Dennis (Juanita) Lingle of Metropolis and Allen (Karen) Lingle of Conway, Arkansas.
In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by: a son –Michael Lingle.
Linda worked for a number of years as the mailroom supervisor at the Shawnee Correctional Center before her retirement.
Linda was of the Protestant Faith. Early in her life she took special interest in yard and antique sales and gardening. She had a special love of all animals especially the different animals that she took care of at her home.
At this time there will be no public visitation or service.
