She was born January 8, 1938 to Harold and Muriel (Sailor) Golliher in Murphysboro, IL. She married James E. Martin on December 25, 1970.
Barbara was a Research and Development Operator at Olin Manufacturing for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a dear grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jim Ed Martin of Herrin; Children, Brenda (Jeff) Abell of Yucca Valley, CA, Billy (Martha) Brown of Rantoul, IL, Bonnie Hart of Herrin, and Brian (Judy) Martin of Herrin; Grandchildren, Ryan and Lisa Abell, Brandon and Dana Abell, Joseph and Shelly Abell, Neal and Sarah Brown, Chris and Crystal Haught, John and Amanda Haught, Ashten Martin, Taylor Martin, Jeremy Martin, and Sean Brown; Great-Grandchildren, Dylan Abell, Alyssa Abell, Bradlee Abell, Brodee Abell, Micaiah Hammett, Zachariah Hammett, Hudson Abell, Maddison Brown, Colton Haught, Ciaya Haught, Sophia Haught, and Owen Haught.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandmother, Alice Painter who helped raise her, a son, Bobby Allen Brown and a son-in-law, Robert Hart.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel in Energy, IL.
Funeral Services for Barbara Martin will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel in Energy, IL with Rev. Brad Harlow officiating. Interment will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens.
