Wayne E. Lingle – Obituary

Lingel, WayneWayne E. Lingle, Sr., 84, of Anna, formerly of Buncombe, died at 1:15pm Monday, November 10, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born on January 28, 1930 in Vienna the son of Roy James and Pearl Emma (Prater) Lingle. He married Betty June (Howell) Lingle on October 23, 1948 in Buncombe and to this union 2 sons were born.

Wayne was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. He retired in 1992 from Koppers Wood preserving plant in Carbondale. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and woodworking and making items for family and friends. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family as he was always busy helping others.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Betty of Anna; sons, Lloyd Ray (Brenda) Lingle of Lick Creek and Wayne E. (Debra) Lingle, Jr. of Cobden; grandchildren, Christopher Lloyd (Laura) Lingle of Chester, Il, Stephanie (Corey) Schicher of Chester, Il, Briana (Preston) Childers of Carterville, Il; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Lingle of Peoria, Il; 2 step-grandsons; 6 step great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Roy Lingle and Earl Ray Lingle; grandson, Eric Wayne Lingle; great-grand-daughter, Amanda Nicole Lingle.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Crain Funeral Home with Rev. Darryl Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Anna City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Anna Heights Baptist Church.
