Spaghetti dinner raises funds for memorial

VFW--Max-Hook-and-serverThe Beggs-Gurley VFW Post #5222 in Vienna held a spaghetti dinner Friday, Aug. 8, at Vienna High School to help raise money to replace the veterans memorial honor roll on the Vienna Square. The
dinner was co-sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America. Modern Woodmen volunteers prepared and served the meal. The dinner raised approximately $1,500 for the memorial. 100% of the proceeds will be matched by Modern Woodmen.

VFW-Chloe-HookMax Hook of Vienna, far left in above photo, is shown being served at the spaghetti dinner by Patsy Kerley. Peggy Richy and Steve Kerley, in the background, were some of the others assisting with the dinner.

There was a large selection of fresh baked desserts to choose from at the dinner. Chloe Hook, pictured right, had a difficult time deciding which one would satisfy her sweet tooth.
