Lighthouse project takes form

Eagle-House-Light-HouseAfter nearly 15 years in the making, the Eagle House Ministries’ lighthouse project is finally taking full form. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Plans are underway for an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for the lighthouse in early fall.

The four-story structure sits on top of the Buncombe Hill, on Ill. Hwy. 37, next to Eagle House Ministries.

The lighthouse’s upper level will have a rotating light directed southeasterly. The light will be viewable from many miles away. The top level will not be accessible to the public.

The second and third levels will feature observation platforms with multiple windows overlooking the valley below.

According to Eagle House Ministries’ website, “This Lighthouse will be a tool to show that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World.  It will provide a source of hope and revelation of who Jesus Christ is and that He is calling us out of the darkness and into His marvelous light!”

Construction of the lighthouse has been mostly funded by private donations and a bank loan. Donations for the lighthouse are still being accepted. Visit www.eaglehouseministries.com or call 618-771-2279.
