Quack quack!

ducks2It is time to get your ‘ducks in a row’ for the 8th Annual Duck Race to help Johnson County cancer patients. The Duck Race is a family fun event to be held Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Bella Terra Winery on Parker City Road near Tunnel Hill.

Race directors are working on the events schedule. Some events already booked include Blend, Your Voice Karaoke, Professor Play and inflatable fun.  There will be a karaoke contest, sack races and water balloon toss for cash prizes and trophies. There will be plenty of games, food and a petting zoo, along with several vendors.

This year the Duck Race organizers are working with the University of Illinois Extension and the 4-H groups to help bring more awareness to the memorial and the exciting things that 4-H and the U of I Extension can help you with.

Also this year is a contest between schools, clubs, businesses, churches and individuals to sell the most ducks. The top seller in each of the categories will win $200.00. If a duck you sell wins or loses the race, you win again.  Another great thing this year is that there are prizes worth $100.00 to $500.00 that you will be eligible for if you buy a duck.

There are many ways you can win and have fun while helping Johnson County cancer patients.  If you would like to get more information please call 618-967-9528.  An order form for ducks can be found in this week’s issue of The Vienna Times and Goreville Gazette or online at http://heathertreatmemorial.org/.
