Charles Clarke, 82, a resident of rural Vienna, IL, passed away Friday evening, April 11, 2014, at 11:17 PM at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
Charles was born September 18, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Raymond & Emily (Arcaro) Clarke.
Charles is survived by: his children – Dennis (Debbie) Clarke of Naperville, IL and Tammy Boss (Al Christy) of Vienna, IL; 5 grandchildren – Tina, Holly, Jay, Melissa, and Bobby; 6 great grandchildren – Thomas, Christina, Joann, Hannah, Veda, and Jackson; 4 brothers – Johnny, Bobby, Jimmy, and Frank “Butch” Clarke; and a sister – Charlotte Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife – Beulah “Boots” Arbuckle Clarke and 2 brothers – Ray and Ronnie Clarke.
Charles was employed as a carpenter. He is remembered, however, as a “jack of all trades.” Charles enjoyed fishing. As a skilled craftsman, he also enjoyed building birdhouses and constructing western-style cowboy lawn figurines. Charles was of the Catholic faith.
In accordance with Charles’ wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
