Luther “Luke” Keedy, age 83, of Dixon Springs, passed away on February 4, 2014 at home.
He was born February 19, 1930 to Don Arthur and Elberta (Morgan) Keedy in Muddy. Luke married Anna Lee Marshall on April 17, 1954 in Cornith, MS.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anna Lee Keedy of Dixon Springs; one son Terry (Laurie) Keedy of Dixon Springs; step-grandson, Jason Hall of Dixon Springs; one sister Mae Simpson of Peoria; two brothers, Frank (Cathy) Keedy of Anna, David (Sandi) Keedy of Pekin; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Howard, Neal, Don Jr., Jack; two sisters, Violet Brown, Jeanette Lewis.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Caterpillar at the proving grounds in East Peoria. He and his son rebuilt automobiles for many years. He loved NASCAR, was a long time Hot Rodder, race car driver, and loved drag racing, and to travel. He belonged to Pekin Lodge 126.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
