Eunice H. “Helen” Eastwood, age 79 years, a resident of Belknap, Illinois, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2013, at 12:04 PM at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Helen was born September 26, 1934. She was the daughter of William & Fay (Mathis) Davault.
Helen was united in marriage to William “Walter” Eastwood. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children – Mary Stillwell of Marion, Ill, Bill Eastwood of Marion, IL and Alice Larrison of Belknap, IL; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters – Mae Malcomb of Ava, IL and Jane Jeffers of Oregon City, OR; and 2 brothers – Francis Davault and Martin Davault both of Belknap, IL.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Hastings, and a brother, Jackie Dean Davault.
Helen had worked as a seamstress and an upholsterer. She was a member of the Belknap Pentecostal Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Helen is fondly remembered by her family as the “best cook in the country.” She loved her dogs, Little Guy and Sheffy. Helen had a zest for life. She went skydiving for the first time at the age of 76 years.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held Monday evening, December 23, 2013, at 7 PM at the Marion Independent Baptist Church, 8602 West Main St., Marion, IL 62959. Pastor Keith Rankin will officiate.
Information regarding a memorial tribute book will be available at the service.
