Rita Anne Simmons, age 91 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
Rita was born Rita Vogel, November 6, 1922 in Peoria, Illinois. She and her loving husband Clyde moved to Oklahoma City to be close to her daughter in 1999. She has lived with her for the last 4 years.
Rita is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Clyde Simmons, Jr. and her son Raymond Edward Simmons and two sisters, Mary Weber and Eloise Moreski, and her parents Ed and Loretta Vogel.
She is lovingly remembered by her son David (Kathy) Simmons of Aurora, Colorado and her daughter Barbara (Ed) Kardokus of Oklahoma City. Kathy Simmons (widow of Raymond) of Wichita, Kansas. Remembered also by her 8 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Rita was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.
A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL . High Priest Glenn Webb will officiate. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery in Tunnel Hill, IL.
Visitation will be from 10 AM- 11 AM Wednesday at the Bailey Funeral Home.
