Linda S. “Susie” (Brumley) Kerley, age 64, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2013, at 2:50 a.m. at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Susie was born May 4, 1949 in Johnson County, Illinois. She was the daughter of George Brumley, Jr. and Norma (Wright) Brumley.
Susie is survived by; two sons Kevin Kerley (Terri Hoffmeister) of Hawaii and Ty Kerley of the Flatwoods community; five grandchildren, James Patrick Kerley, Michael Hunter Kerley, Trevor Wade Kerley, Iris Luna Hoffmeister and Harmony Jade Hoffmeister; two brothers, Richard (Karen) Brumley of Belknap and Gary (Sherry) Brumley of Vienna; four sisters, Brenda (Alan) Akins of Vienna, Annie (Al) Duncan of Anna, Sharon (Herman) Chapman of Vienna, Marlene Chapman and Tony Belden of Vienna; two aunts, Catherine Brumley and Wanda Bailey both of Vienna and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Kerley.
Susie was a 1967 graduate of Vienna High School. She was employed as a clerk at the former U&H Grocery and Daniel’s Food Mart. Susie also was an Avon representative. She had worked as a rural mail carrier.
Susie was of the Christian faith. She never met a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Susie is fondly remembered for her love of yard sales.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2013, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery north of Vienna.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
