Crystal Lynn Maze – Obituary

Crystal Lynn Maze, 49, of Goreville died at her home surrounded by a multitude of family and friends, leaving to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 5, 2013 at 2:42 am.  Visitation and funeral services will be at Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church in Marion, Illinois and commitment ceremony will be at Friendship Cemetery in Goreville, Illinois following the funeral.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 7 from 5-8 PM and funeral will begin at 11 am on Saturday, June 8th.  Rev. Kevin McNeely and Bro. Darrin Clark will be officiating the services.
Crystal was born on February 8, 1964 in Marion, Illinois to Lee Vernell and Karen DeAnn (Stout) Wollard.  She graduated from Goreville High School where she met the love of her life, Paul Ivan Maze, and the two were married on May 21, 1982 at McKinney Chapel Church and were blessed to share 31 years of love.  To this union were born two sons, Cody Paul and Seth Ira.  Crystal was a homemaker until her boys were both school age and then worked various jobs until 1998 when she began working at Shawnee Correctional Center and then later transferred to Vienna Correctional Center, she was employed for 15 years.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Paul Maze; son, Cody and daughter-in-law, Ashleigh Maze of Goreville; son, Seth Maze of Goreville; parents, Lee and DeAnn Wollard of Goreville, sister, Kathy and brother-in-law, Stan Kent of Goreville; sister, Carleen and brother-in-law, Kirk Douglas of Marion; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Vennetta Maze of Goreville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lee Anne Maze of Buncombe; brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Rhonda Maze of Goreville; brother-in-law, Shane Maze of Goreville; brother-in-law, Shawn Maze of Goreville; nieces, Lori Gibbs, Leah Douglas, Erin Douglas, Jeri Maze, Jalynn Maze, Jaden Maze, Jamie Maze, Meagan Maze, Madyson Maze and nephews, Benjie Kent, Wyatt Maze, and Ethan Maze all of whom she adored and a very “special gift,” great niece, Emersan Lee Gibbs who Crystal considered her “sunshine.”  She was very excited to announce to many that she was expecting her first grandchild on January 3, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Esco “Cook” and Sylvia Wollard; maternal grandparents, Russell and Kathleen Stout; and nephew, Wesley Franklin Maze.
Crystal regularly worshipped at Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir, sing special music, and serve Christ.  She had a passion for people and people loved her.  Crystal had many friends she met along her journey through church, work, and other places who she regularly inspired and encouraged.  She often spoke of how greatly blessed she was to have so many people loving on her.  She made a lasting impression upon all who knew her, an impression not of herself but of Christ.
