Illinois State Police are currently investigating the cause of this one-vehicle accident that occurred late this morning on Rt. 146, east of Vienna at Concord Church Road.

Two unidentified people were transported to a hospital by Johnson County Ambulance. The injuries of the occupants are unknown at this time.

Extrication of the occupants was required by the Vienna Fire Department.

The Vienna Times was told that both occupants were from out of the area.

The SUV had Tennessee license plates on it.

Sally Joe Billingsley of Johnson County, a witness to the accident, told The Vienna Times that she was travelling west on Rt. 146 when she crested a hill and saw the east bound vehicle swerving out of control.

Billingsley said she saw the SUV roll three times. “I was afraid it was going to roll right into me,” she said.

Though shaken, Billingsley was not injured.

Additional details will be in The Vienna Times and at www.theviennatimes.com when they become available.
