Janice Kay Ladd, 62, a resident of rural Murphsyboro, Ill. passed away Friday morning, March 15, 2013, at 3:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.
Janice was born January 22, 1951 in Anna, Ill. She was the daughter of Max & Edith (Cheek) Ladd.
Survivors include her mother – Edith Ladd Joplin of Murphysboro, aunts, uncles, cousins and a dear friend and neighbor – Mary Sweeney of Murphysboro.
Janice was preceded in death by her father – Max Ladd, an infant brother – Phillip Scott Ladd and her stepfather – Glenn W. Joplin.
Janice was a 1969 graduate of Vienna High School. She had received her licensed practical nurse’s training at the former V.T.I. Campus of Southern Illinois University. She attended LPN school along with her mother Edith. Janice continued her education and became a registered nurse. She was employed for over 25 years in the emergency room of St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro.
Janice was of the Baptist faith. She had a love of traveling.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, March 18, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service.
