DAR Chapter hosts Veterans’ Day program Monday

Phil and Cara Webb of Tunnel Hill look for family members names on the memorial wall located in the Vienna Library lawn, following the Veterans’ Day program held there Monday.

The Daniel P. Chapman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted their annual Veterans’ Day program Monday at the Vienna Library.

The event was held in the library basement due to the cold temperatures that day.

Over 100 people attended to show their support to all branch of the armed forces.

Father Tom Barrett gave the invocation to begin the program.

Brian Bailey present many facts and statistics of lives lost in war throughout U.S. history.

Special guest speaker was Kevin MacDonald of Vienna. MacDonald was injured during active duty will serving in the U.S. Army.

MacDonald presented information about the “This Able Vet” program that connects specially trained dogs with disabled veterans.

All veterans present at the program were recognized and thanked by program coordinators Jani Jones and Clea Russell.

Pianist Judy Miller set the mood with several patriotic songs, including the National Anthem.
