Kenneth D. Buttrum, age 53 years, a resident of the Big Bay Community in Massac County, passed away Sunday morning, August 26, 2012, at 9:32 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Kenneth was born May 9, 1959 in Anna. He was the son of William Kenneth Buttrum and Mary Marie (Holt) Buttrum.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Linda Wetherington on August 22, 1981 in Metropolis. She survives.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth L. and Jamie Buttrum of Lewisville, Texas; two grandchildren, Aubree and Kahlan; three brothers, Billy Ray and Jean Buttrum of Vienna, Roy Lee and Sue Buttrum of Grand Chain, Donnie Joe and Diane Buttrum of Elgin; four sisters, Mary Ruth Buttrum of Vienna, Wanda Jean and Dave Conrod of Murphysboro, Carmen Roberta and Gale Clardy of Eddyville, and Joyce Ann West of Canton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Dean Buttrum.
Kenneth operated his own fuel service supply business and was affiliated with Seay Oil Company.
Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time gardening, fishing and squirrel hunting. He loved to spend time visiting with family and friends.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Kerley Cemetery in the Flatwoods community. Those attending the service may gather at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to accompany the procession to the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
