Clinton Miller, 89, of rural Buncombe, died Sunday morning, July 1, 2012, at 5:10 a.m. at his home on the family farm where he had lived his entire life.
Clinton was born on Nov. 13, 1922, the son of Herbert L. Miller and Ida Mae Isom Miller.
Clinton married Oretha Goldsberry Miller on Jan. 4, 1958, at Anna United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2004.
Survivors include his daughters, Betty Yandell and her husband Steve of Tunnel Hill and Sherri Miller-Maze and her husband Mike of Buncombe; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Jason West of Tunnel Hill, David and Meghan Yandell of Greenfield, Ind., Melissa Maze of Buncombe and Clint Maze of Buncombe; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Claire West.
In addition to his parents and wife, Clinton was preceded in death by four brothers, LeeRoy, Delene, John and Robert “Bill” Miller; three sisters, Lillian Miller, Emma McCormick and Opal Moore; and an infant sister.
Clinton attended Mt. Pisgah Public School. He was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Johnson County Farm Bureau. Clinton also enjoyed gardening. In his spare time, Clinton was an avid CB radio enthusiast. His CB handle was the “Pig Man.”
A graveside service was held Tuesday morning, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Cypress Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating.
There was no public visitation.
